Family Tradition
MTL Montagetechnik Larem GmbH was founded by Ewald Larem in 1995 in Mühlhausen, Thuringia. The owner-managed company has grown since then with a solid strategy. Next to wife Heidi, the second generation has joined the company in 2016. Both Ewald and Fabian began their careers in the automotive industry, carrying the spirit of high quality standards and continuous improvement.

The quality and robustness of each product stems from our processes. Since 1998 we have been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. However, our competitiveness comes from our passion for technical challenges and attention to detail. Our success comes from clarity and structure in both our way of thinking as well as in the layout of our facility. We encourage you to come visit.
ESD Program
All value added areas are unconditional electronic protected areas (EPAs). ESD compliance is implemented throughout the facility, e.g. facilities, equipment, and clothing.
RoHS & REACH Compliance
We respect the environment. We use RoHS-compliant components. We process these as a downstream user in accordance with the REACH directive.

History
Tradition Through Quality
Since the foundation our company has steadily grown. Our high quality standards still remain as the core of our services. The following timeline shows distinctive milestones in our company's history:
1995
June: Foundation of MTL Montagetechnik Larem GmbH
In June 1995, Dipl. Ing. Ewald Larem founded MTL Montagetechnik Larem GmbH. A location in 99974 Mühlhausen (Germany) is chosen. The open spaces allow later buildings. The company starts with the production of mechanical assemblies.
1996
January: MTL GmbH Produces Surface Mounted Device (SMT) Assemblies
Start of production of electronical assemblies with an in-line SMT production line.
1998
December: Certification According DIN EN ISO 9001
The company receives the first certificate for the quality management system by in independent institution.
2000
February: Production on New Shopfloor
After the completion of the new building, the electronical production is moved onto the new shopfloor. The spaceous facility enables a better material flow. The acquisition of the first in-line SMT line improves our quality standards. This environment constitutes the basis for growth in the coming years.
2002
September: Introduction of RoHS
The electronics industry is undergoing a change with the directive RoHS EU 2002 / 95 / G. The acronym RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances and sets the standard for greener products. MTL positions itself in September 2002 and benefited from the demand for electronics, which are compliant with the RoHS. In Germany the directive is enforced on 1st of July, 2006.
2008
July: Doubling the Space of the Shopfloor
With the completion all areas are located with a new warehouse under one roof.
2009
December: Extension of the Manufacturing Capacity
The SMT production is extended with a second in-line production. A DEK paste printer and a FUJI mounter raise the standard of quality to a new level.
2012
5-Axis Machining at MTL
The mechanical production is extended by a Hermle 5-axis milling machine. We implemented CAD / CAM and thus increase the quality and efficiency for mechanical projects.
2013
Portfolio Extension With Vapor Phase & AOI
For demanding soldering processes we add a Vapour-Phase Soldering System and an Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) System.
2016
January: The 2nd Generation Enters the Business
After first few years of professional experience, the founder's son, Dipl. Ing. Fabian Larem enters the company. After a training in all areas Fabian advances to the head of sales.
2020
June: 25-Year Company Anniversary
In the year of the pandemic, we look back on the success story with full pride and gratitude.
2021
May: 4 - Axis Machining at MTL
A DOOSAN PUMA 2100 (4-axis CNC turning) is added to our machine fleet in order to reduce cost per piece for custom parts, especially with turning and milling characteristics.
2025
June: 30th Birthday
Fantasy? The entire staff of MTL Montagetechnik GmbH Larem works daily for the long-term partnerships, so we look towards the 30th anniversary with pride.
